Today is Pentecost, I often refer to it as the “forgotten holiday.” But I want us to remember Pentecost and to reflect on the Holy Spirit and the very important part of the Trinity the Spirit is, especially for us as believers. Christ’s work on the cross was wrapped up in the knowledge that the Spirit would then come and “seal the deal” for those of us who believe.
Last Monday we kicked off a three-part series on the Holy Spirit. We have found that blog posts and content we’ve created about the Holy Spirit have been some of my most popular topics, especially for those who find Ever Thine Home through searches on the internet.
A couple years ago my team and I put together an ebook on the Holy Spirit. I hope one day to turn it into a Bible study to share with you, but that is a project for later. For now I want to offer this ebook in which we first gave to new subscribers a couple years ago. It has been my most downloaded ebook.
I hope that this series on the Holy Spirit encourages you to consider the work of the Spirit both in your life and in our world. And I hope that you find some time to work through this ebook. In it, I talk through five ways you can hear from the Holy Spirit. It is by no means an exhaustive list, but it is a great place to start reflecting on who He is in the Trinity. Each lesson comes with reflection questions at the end of the chapter. I think it would be a great study to do this summer or perhaps you could use it to lead a small group through this summer or even in the fall.
I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this little ebook. Perhaps, you could share how you have heard from the Holy Spirit in your own life. I would also love to hear if there are other questions around the Holy Spirit you might like me to answer. The ways we could discuss the Holy Spirit are endless.
Ever His,
Thank you for this gift.
Very excited to spend time with this study. I recently taught a class on the Holy Spirit infilling that all that attended loved - - they expressed a hunger to learn about this person who is so ignored in churches today . Thank you
