Life can change in an instant.
And on April 8th it changed for us. After a full day of meetings, then errands, Dennis and I had dinner and then went for a walk in our neighborhood. Spring weather is nearly perfect for being outside and we’d set a goal over the weekend to try and walk four evenings that week. Tuesday was our first attempt to restart a good habit.
Not much more than five minutes into the first downhill lap, our neighbor’s granddaughter pulled out of their driveway. We heard her coming, moved to the side of the road, continued walking, but as she neared we both turned our torsos to our right and waved as she went by. Somehow as we rotated left and forward again my right leg got caught in Dennis’s left leg. The next thing I knew my body was in the air and I landed HARD on the asphalt on my left hip, followed by my left elbow and left palm.
