How Journaling and the Psalms Changed My Life

In 2017 we closed the last chapter in a story we’d been writing for over 40 years. Dennis and I left FamilyLife, a ministry we helped found, and passed leadership on to David Robbins. The next blank page in our lives was the start of an epilogue, a great uncharted unknown.

As we walked into these new pages, unanticipated challenges from this significant life change of retirement from leadership began to appear. Chronic hives attacked my body. Coworkers, copy machines, and ready help we’d been used to for 40 years vanished overnight. Calendars once ruled by speaking, leading, meetings, and daily radio were now blank.
