Spring is blooming everywhere here in Arkansas and I love what this time of year represents; new life, new beginnings, and resurrection hope! Colors are fresh and bright on flowers and trees. And spring is the perfect time to work in my flower beds; cleaning out the old and creating order for the new.
Inside my house and around my front door I also enjoy updating decorative items, though I keep most of my Easter things up into early summer because remembering His resurrection is important all year long.
But soon now it will be Mother’s Day and then Pentecost and then the end of the school year and summer. So I wanted to send this email to you today with a link to our Etsy store where we have some lovely gift items, lots of great prints, Scripture verses and other fun items.
First for all the mothers in your life:
We have a VERY limited number of our best-selling framed Isaiah 33:6 verse which says, “And He shall be the stability of your times.” I found a box of about 25 in our storage unit. When they are gone, sadly they will be gone for good because we can’t afford to produce them anymore.
Another great gift idea for mom or a friend’s birthday is a set of blank notecards printed with one of my favorite watercolor paintings of pears that I painted years ago. Each set contains 8 cards and envelopes.
Speaking of birthdays, we have some great birthday cards that are meaningful, unlike most of what you find in card racks.
And for Mother’s and Father’s Day, we have two designs that I love. One is by an artist who was a missionary in the early 1900s named Lilias Trotter. Her mama and little one is one of my favorites because she perfectly captures that maternal bond.
And for dads and granddads, we have a card with a photo of a very old fresco in Italy showing Joseph carrying little Jesus on his shoulders as they traveled to Egypt to escape Herod who killed all the boys two and under. And for your kids, we have a cute card for them to create for dads and grandpas too.
Last, because Scripture is eternal and our need for God’s word is too, here are some of my favorite verses for your home or for gifts from someone else’s.
And because I mentioned Pentecost above I wanted to link you to this verse about the Holy Spirit, given to us at Pentecost, that it might remind you of the wonder of His presence in our lives. “ May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.”
This mirror art print has been very popular since we added it to our shop last year. It serves as a poignant reminder that “those who look to Him are radiant.” This would be especially perfect for your daughter's bathroom to remind her who she ultimately belongs to and that He made each one of us in His image.
As spring melts into early summer may you fix your hope completely on Him, the author and perfecter of our faith. May you also remember the days are long but the years are short.
Ever His,
Barbara
