I remember watching an awards show on television. One of the presenters gave a short monologue on the terrible ills in America. Then she yelled to the audience, “If we will all just unite against these hateful people” ... cheers from the crowd ... “we can overcome racism!”
I could understand this woman’s desire for conditions to improve ... her desire for a better country.
But I also wondered what kind of country would result if everyone miraculously united against injustice, even when we agree that injustice is wrong? What would we replace it with?
