Though the events occurred over one hundred years ago, most of us know the story of the Titanic. When the huge ship was built, it was declared “unsinkable.” Designers and engineers created what they believed to be an indestructible, double thick hull. So confident were they in the ship’s construction that they didn’t even put enough lifeboats to carry everyone aboard the ship.
