Flying home from our granddaughter’s graduation recently, I remembered a verse “out of nowhere.” I wasn’t even sure where in the Bible it was, but my ESV Bible app search led me to it quickly.
There it was in Hebrews 10:5, where Jesus said, “ ... a body You have prepared for Me.” Like bubbles on the surface of water, questions began to percolate in my mind like this one: Did God prepare a body for me, too? I’ve never heard a sermon or teaching on this.
So I began looking up verses to answer this question and others. Here is where I traveled with this idea as we soared into the sky.
First question: What did His body look like?
Because Jesus is fully God and fully man and lived a perfect life, I’ve always assumed his physical body was perfect outwardly. Sculptors and artists have crafted and painted Him with pure skin, finely executed features, and an attractive, well-proportioned face.
But was He beautiful and does it even matter?
