Three years ago I read Eugene Peterson’s book, Run With The Horses, about the life of the prophet Jeremiah and the remarkable parallels with our world today. It was still the Covid era and it seemed this book had been written yesterday instead of 25 years ago! Last month I pulled it off the shelf and reread portions of it again. It’s a great book and I highly recommend it.

This quote early in the book is one of my favorites. After decades of reading God’s Word, some things have become very clear to me. One of these is God’s endlessly creative originality with His children, which Peterson writes about. Though God chose a nation and a people through whom to reveal Himself and His love, He … loves … individuals.
