This profoundly speaks to my heart. As I turn 76 in a few days and appreciate our 53 year marriage I know there may be health challenges ahead. Asking daily for the Holy Spirit to replace my selfishness with the mind of Christ is critical. The winter landscape is beautiful and given for us to enjoy and marvel at God’s creativity. Thank you for this lovely message.
Hi Barbara, I will soon be 73 and am 50 years married to a faithful husband. Your words are an encouragement to me. I have 2 beautiful adopted granddaughters and one is in a wheelchair but full of joy. The other is only 4’ 11” and now 17 and disappointed about it. I am only 5ft tall and it never bothered me but I want to hear her and speak truth to her. She is also sad she will never meet her birth mom. She was a cocaine addict and died a year ago. You know as an adoptive mom that the question “Why did they give me up?” Is in the back of her mind. Thank you again for pointing us to the Lord. In His Grace, Gigi Hill
Thanks for writing. Adoption is wonderful and complicated too. It sounds like your two granddaughters are doing well. As to the 17 yo wishing she was taller and missing her birth mom, keep listening and as you can remind her of the truth of Scripture; that we who belong to Christ are all adopted (Ephsians 1:5), that God can be trusted to fill the gaps in our lives with Himself and others, that His design of her and plan for her is perfect. My own adopted daughter is 4'11" and on her birthday she used to say for years "today I'm 25 (or 30) and I'm still 4'11" tall! She learned to smile about it if not laugh a little.
Thanks for reading what I write about life and our Lord Jesus.

Doris thank you for sharing your thoughts and a bit of your story. I too greatly enjoy the beauty of winter.
