Just what I needed. I am needing help navigating a rough spot in our marriage and I keep praying, "Help, LORD". I want to do things the way Jesus would do them. These three points were an answer to my prayer. Thank you for your wisdom from the Lord!

Kim I'm so encouraged to hear this was the word you needed to hear. I love how God gives us these little messages as we are seeking His wisdom as we navigate hard times in our lives.

Loved this--thank you! As was mentioned, I needed this as a reminder. I married a good man but now that he's retired it's not always easy to always being together. I'm too independent I guess but also am a woman who needs "alone time" which I never had when we were raising our girls. Overall, I am very grateful/thankful for our life as husband & wife but still need reminders & encouragement which Barbara does so expertly! (:

Katie thanks for sharing a bit of your story with us. Each season has its struggles, but they each have their joys as well. I hope that you continue to working toward that balance of having time to yourself and also being intentional to connect with your husband.

Holly thanks for sharing with us. I know in the winter seasons it doesn't feel like spring will ever come. But it will. Be patient with yourself and him. May the Lord comfort you as you walk this dark season together.

I find the years, for those of us willing to stay together thru the thick and thin, the years evolve into more oneness. 48 years for Dave and i, things are much more calm and sweet these days. We still have times when we fuss at each other, but bounce back quicker. We charish time apart (man cave/ mom cave) a much as time together. I think we're closer to our first love today than many years prior to now. Great article Barbara!

Please always pray for us. Last year My husband retired from his job-worked day and night and travel so much. We need a big break and get to know each other :)….
